Bachelor’s degree program in Medical Device Engineering Technology

Program Description

The Bachelor’s program in Medical Instrumentation Engineering Technology at Alnoor University is a specialized academic and engineering program aimed at preparing engineers with the knowledge and skills required to design, operate, maintain, calibrate, and manage modern medical devices and equipment. It applies principles of electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer engineering in medical applications. The program focuses on integrating engineering sciences with health sciences, using the latest technologies in biomedical measurements, diagnostic and therapeutic devices, and smart systems, enabling graduates to work in healthcare institutions, medical device companies, and research centers.

Bachelor of Science in Medical Devices Engineering Technology (B.Sc.)

  • Level 6 of the Iraqi National Qualifications Framework (INQF), or its equivalent, in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Students are admitted in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the approved admission regulations. 

Requirements for the Award of the Bachelor's Degree:

  • Completion of all required credit hours.
  • Successful completion of all courses.
  • Commitment to university regulations and instructions.
  • Completion of the field training requirements, if applicable.

Prior learning or coursework completed at recognized educational institutions may be credited in accordance with the applicable regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Alnoor University.

    • Operation, maintenance, and calibration of medical devices in accordance with approved technical standards.
    • Diagnosing technical faults and performing preventive and corrective maintenance of medical devices.

The program coordinator is responsible for supervising the implementation of the study plan, monitoring the achievement of learning outcomes, and ensuring the quality of the program, as well as developing curricula in line with the latest advancements in Medical Devices Engineering Technology. The role also includes coordinating among faculty members and students, overseeing laboratories and practical training, and ensuring alignment with academic accreditation requirements and the quality assurance policies of Alnoor University.
