Bachelor’s Degree Program in Surveying Engineering Technology

Program Description

The Bachelor of Surveying Engineering Technologies program at Alnoor University is a specialized academic and engineering program designed to prepare engineers with the knowledge and skills required in engineering and geodetic surveying, map production, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-based surveying, in line with the latest advancements in the field of Geomatics Engineering. The program emphasizes the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical applications through the use of state-of-the-art surveying instruments and software, enabling graduates to contribute effectively to infrastructure projects, urban planning, energy, agriculture, and natural resource management.

      • To prepare engineers specialized in surveying engineering technology who possess a solid scientific and professional foundation.
      • Develop skills in carrying out engineering and geodetic surveying work using modern technologies.
      • Preparing students to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing in spatial data analysis.
      • Developing skills in using digital surveying instruments, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
      • Enhancing students’ abilities in preparing digital maps and three-dimensional models.
      • Instilling the principles of quality, accuracy, and occupational safety in surveying work.

Bachelor of Science in Surveying Engineering Technology (B.Sc.)

  • Level 6 of the Iraqi National Qualifications Framework (INQF), or its equivalent, in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Students are admitted in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the approved admission regulations. 

Requirements for the Award of the Bachelor's Degree:

  • Completion of all required credit hours.
  • Successful completion of all courses.
  • Commitment to university regulations and instructions.
  • Completion of the field training requirements, if applicable.

Prior learning or coursework completed at recognized educational institutions may be credited in accordance with the applicable regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Alnoor University.

  • By the end of the program, graduates will be able to:

    • Execution of engineering and geodetic surveying works using modern equipment.
    • Use of devices Total Station ,GNSS/GPS and digital levels in precise surveying work.
    • Preparation of digital and topographic maps using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
    • Processing and analyzing aerial images and remote sensing data.
    • Conducting surveying operations using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and producing 3D digital models.
    • Applying accuracy and quality standards in surveying and engineering projects.
    • Spatial database management and preparation of technical reports.

Bachelor of Science in Surveying Engineering Technology Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the curriculum, monitoring the achievement of the program learning outcomes, ensuring the quality of the program, and continuously developing the curriculum in line with the latest advancements in Surveying Engineering, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, and Geospatial Technologies. The Coordinator also facilitates coordination between faculty members and students, supervises laboratories and practical training, and ensures that all program activities are aligned with academic accreditation requirements and the quality assurance policies of Alnoor University.
